Rachel has deep connections to local industry and is passionate about ensuring the Logo_pipefitters-LU_211prosperity of our refining base, given the role it plays as the jobs creator for the south county.

First, Rachel’s father, Mr. William Timothy Pokluda was a pipefitter and member of The Pipefitters Local Union 211 for over thirty-eight years. Tim worked at Monsanto and later Sterling Chemicals.

In addition, Rachel’s grandfather, Mr. A. L. Pokluda, was also a member of the pipefitters union, as a “steamfitter”. Given that grandpas was initiated in 1939, Rachel is the product of two generations of union fitters, over 70 years of the men of her family making a livelihood in the trade.
